Coding/Compliance Specialist 47Direct Hire opportunity, Lake Worth, FloridaA rapidly expanding, leading national substance abuse organization is seeking an Coding/Compliance Specialist.
The team is made up of dedicated professionals, providing the highest level of care as a first step towards long term healing for those struggling with the disease of addiction.
The successful applicant will be experienced with coding, billing and auditing in the healthcare industry, as well as leadership skills to manage the internal audit function.
Must be able to focus on accuracy and completeness with an understanding that payment optimization is an outcome of correct code assignment rather than a separate process.
Requirements:
Seasoned, certified coder with billing and auditing experience.
Experience in the area of behavioral health is preferred.
Able to work professionally and effectively with:
internal providers and support staff external vendors external insurance company provider relations, billing, auditing and appeals staff Develops and delivers constructive and effective education and training internally providers and staff based on:
results of internal or external reviews and audits insurance company changes to reimbursement guidelines and clinical policies AMA, CMS or other officially published coding changes or clarifications Ability to work independently in a fast paced, high growth environment Attend continuing education classes to maintain proficiency and coding credential(s) In depth knowledge of coding guidelines (ICD-9-CM, ICD-10-CM, CPT and HCPCS), CMS regulations, state provider licensure and certification requirements, commercial insurance clinical and reimbursement policies, and audit and appeal techniques.
Flexible, detail-oriented, ability to be a positive influence on others, ability to work independently, willingness to take ownership of responsibilities, quality conscious, dependable and ability to adapt well to change.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including Word and Excel (MS Project a plus) Strong interpersonal and presentation skills required for educational programs Strong written and oral communication skills Strong analytical and writing skills required for report development Must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization
Experience:

years of coding and auditing experience in both inpatient and office setting Current certification required:
CPC, CPMA, or CCS ICD-10 certification a plus Experience coding/auditing behavioral health/substance abuse a plus CHC certification valued but not required Supervisory/Management, Consultant, and/or Project Management experience preferredSalary will be commiserate with experience and knowledge.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
